I get a lot of emails from people who ask me what they should do, because they are thinking about starting the SCD Diet. It seems that most people intuitively guess that they need to do something SPECIAL to heal their gut… something different than what they have been doing.

And yes, that’s sort of true.

One of the things that you have to remember when you’re dealing with a digestive disease… is… that you are used to eating a certain way because we all grew up that way, and that eating any other way is just weird.

Ultimately, food creates disease, but can also take it away.

The more sick you are (or the more malnourished and inflamed your body is), the more difficult it becomes for food of any kind to do you anything good.

When you start the SCD Diet right, and spend all that time preparing the intro diet foods, maybe beating a little detox, and MOST IMPORTANTLY having strict adherence, YOU CAN FEEL IT.

Something is different inside of you.

Your body starts to change very rapidly and you know it.

And you WANT to eat better…

How do you start a diet that is going to change your life for the better, and not only make you feel better but give you your life back?

Right! You change into a new lifestyle!

If you want to start the diet and say, “Ok, how do I make this diet look just like the one I have been eating?”

I would ask you, “The same diet that is killing you… you want to make it like that one?”

If you were to ask me, “How do I change my life into this new lifestyle of healing?”

I would tell you, “You are on the right track… eat to live, don’t live to eat.”

The way you have been living your life up to this point is what got you sick and YOU’RE ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER BY CHANGING YOUR LIFESTYLE, by changing the way you think about food.

It works like magic.

So, What Does a Person Who Wants to Heal Their Gut DO?

They have to WANT to Change…

No really… you have to be ready to stop being sick… it’s not about “willpower.”

Here’s a great mindset to take with a “lifestyle change” like the SCD diet…

Just say, “You know what? I am sick of being sick! I want to take control of my health”

That should kick off your new lifestyle.

Then, follow up with “I now eat to live, not live to eat!”

The cravings and impulses will beg to differ…

“I can just have a dash of milk…”

“I will just start eating a cheat of chocolate to get by…”

“I will bake almond flour goodies for every single meal…”

Do you follow me?

The message is, “you are changing your diet away from the one that was killing you slowly, to the one that will heal you… make the change 100% and change your lifestyle”

This creates a HUGE mental challenge (which can stop SCD success in its tracks), and sets the SCD Diet apart from all other “diets” or medicinal treatment for digestive diseases.

Will some doctors laugh you out of their offices? Sure, it will happen at least once. Good, its better that it happens now and you prove them wrong.

Oh Yeah, One More Important Thing

I’d like you to think about what it’s like when you get a REALLY strong impulse to eat something calling your name.

I’m talking about the kind of impulse where you can’t even control your hands; they just reach in the fridge and put the food in your mouth all by themselves.

Think about how you try and talk yourself out of it for second… but the words never get heard.

Get it?

And how it makes you feel inside.

Guess what?

True SCD diet success comes when you live a new lifestyle, one that no longer eats on impulse and tries to use JEDI mind tricks to stop your uncontrollable hand.

The SCD Lifestyle is one of choice… the choice to take control of your health and no longer be sick… the choice is in your control.

There is a type of person that DEFEATS DIGESTIVE DISEASE… the kind of person that no longer has to worry about diarrhea/constipation, stomach pain, and low energy.

The question I have for you is…

WILL YOU BE THAT PERSON?

Or are you going to just be another one of the people that gives in to being a victim of disease… or stubbornly tries to resist changing their lifestyle even though you know it’s killing you slowly?
